The user determines a maximum level of energy demand (adjusted demand). CAUTION: If the adjusted demand is too low, the controller will tend to shed loads over a long period of time which could cause discomfort. On the other hand, if the adjusted demand is too high, the controller will not make the expected savings. The differential must also be determined by the user. The differential is the value of the largest controlled load, preventing the controller from hunting.
When the instant request exceeds the adjusted request, the controller disables a load so that the instant request passes under the adjusted request. If the instant request is still too high, a second charge is deactivated and so on.
When the instantaneous demand decreases below the adjusted demand but remains within the dead band (adjusted demand minus the differential), the controller remains stable, ie it Does not disable or activate any load. If the controller is equipped with the cycling option, the load controller will cycle the loads with a predetermined time.
When the instantaneous request falls below the deadband, the controller activates an additional output. If the instantaneous demand remains below this threshold, another load is activated.
